This course invites students to study the history of deaconal service in the Christian Church. However, the purpose of this course is not merely to provide students with an objective knowledge of this history, but also to shape the identity of those preparing for deaconal service in the church. Thus, this course will not only examine the history of deaconess service, but also the narrative of women’s vocations in the history of salvation.
